Everyone's selling AI. Most of it is noise. Here's an honest breakdown of what AI agents can actually do for a business your size — and what they can't.
Every tool now has 'AI' stamped on it. For a small business, most of that is noise. The useful question isn't 'should I use AI' — it's 'which boring, repetitive task is quietly costing me hours every week?'
What AI agents are actually good at
Answering the same customer questions, drafting first versions of content, sorting and routing requests, and pulling together information you already have. These are real, today, and they free your team for the work only humans can do.
What they're not (yet)
They're not a strategy, and they won't fix a broken process — they'll just run it faster. Automate after you've simplified, not before. Used well, AI is a force multiplier; used blindly, it's an expensive way to make the same mistakes quicker.
